What devices can I use to vote online?

You can vote online from any computer, tablet or smartphone with access to the internet. Make sure you have the most recent version of your internet browser downloaded to your device.

Can I share my Online Voting PIN?

Voters should never share their Online Voting PIN – it’s personal and no one should ever ask you for it. Learn more about the Do's and Don'ts of online voting.

What do I do if my online voting session times out?

You have 20 minutes to submit your online ballot. If your session times out, your ballot has not been submitted, and you will need to restart the voting process from the beginning. You can log in to the system any time between 10 AM on October 14 and 8 PM on October 24, 2022. Your vote will not be submitted until you complete the entire ballot and click “Submit Ballot.”

If I log in to the voting system, but I do not want to submit my ballot, can I exit the system and do it later?

Yes, as long as you have not clicked “Submit Ballot.” If you exit your online voting session before you submit your ballot, you can log in again before 8 PM EDT on October 24 and restart the voting process from the beginning.

Can anyone tell how I voted if they know my Online Voting PIN?

No. The system does not track how an Online Voting PIN has voted, only that the PIN has been used to submit a ballot.

How can I verify that I am accessing the actual voting system and not a fake site?

When accessing the voting website, HTTPS and an image of a padlock will appear in the search bar, confirming a secure connection.

If you get a message indicating that the site's digital certificate does not match the address where it connects to (or a similar message), you may be accessing a fake site. If this happens, please call the Voter Helpline immediately at 905.477.7000 x8683 (VOTE).
